  • All roads lead to Sydney's Factory Theatre on Sunday for the Sue Telfer Tribute concert aka Festival of Sue. The Ons and Ons open procedings at 2pm and X will close it at 10pm. In-between you can catch the New Christs, The Johnnys, Kim Salmon, The Cruel Sea (instrumental), Front End Loader, The Mis-Made, Penny Ikinger and The Holy Soul. MCs are Terry Serio, Bill Gibson and Tony Townsend. Ten bands over two stages with proceeds going to Support Act, the fund for music industry people in need of support. It's tracking to being a sell-out but you can buy pre-sale tickets here.

  • Sydney actor-cum-musician Terry Serio is supplementing his star-studded band The Half Truths for his June 13 show at Leadbelly’s in his hometown with a very special guest. Charlie Owen (Beasts Of Bourbon/Paul Kelly/Tex, Don and Charlie/New Christs) is coming from Melbourne to play slide guitar behind Terry’s vocals. 

  • fkoFlippin’ Kick Outs – Flippin’ Kick Outs (self released)

    Down a band member but with songs to play, Sydney’s Flipped Out Kicks became the Flippin’ Kick Outs in 2019 and broadened their musical palette.

    Which is to say they still played garage punk but they markedly blurred the stylistic edges, tossing in some rockabilly and hard rock for good measure. This digital album is the fruit of their recent recording labours since COVID and it’s a pretty spiffin’ dose of the sort of street-level rock and roll that used to be par for the course in their hometown.
