    They were a first-time band for many underage gig-goers in the 1990s so there’s a certain irony in  Melbourne hardcore exponents Nursery Crimes paying a visit to Sydney with a show at Marrickville Bowling Club on April 26.

    It will be a night of old and new with O.G. support in the form of Herbal Lunatics (Ben Brown singing songs of  his old band, The Hellmen) and Fun Again! (members of Bored! and Massappeal), with Northern Beaches upstarts The Darrans and newcomers Bugg Music opening proceedings.

    Nursery Crimes were Australian pioneers of all age shows in the ‘90s and many who saw them back in the day now have kids of their own. The good news is that U18s are good to be at the Bowlo if accompanied by a (responsible) adult.

    In their first life, Nursery Crimes were support-of-choice for international tourists like L7, Henry Rollins, Faith No More and Fugazi. They released two full length albums before breaking up the first time in 1994 and have reformed a handfull of times since 2006. This will be their first Sydney gig in 15 years and tickets are on sale here.

     

  • nursery crimes 2026Thirty-five years after releasing their iconic album “Fun Hurts”, melodic Melbourne punk legends Nursery Crimes are back, storming the Marrickville Bowlo stage fin Sydney or a rare headline show and playing the album in full. 

    Nursery Crimes will also blast out a host of favorites from their back catalogue and unveil a selection of brand-new tracks from their upcoming new release - their first new music since “Somethings Wrong with our Heroe”s in 1993.

    Support at Marrickville will come from the mighty Geelong rockin’ stoner fuzz of GRYTT, featuring ex-members of Bored and Warped, new Sydney power trio Blame, comprising ex-Massappeal members, and the dirty, bluesy, pub punk rock of Dirt Road Wave, featuring members of Massappeal and Suiciety.     Nursery Crimes backs up the next day at Link and Pin in Woy Woy with some help from Dirt Road Wave from 2pm. Tickets for that one are here.

    Who says South Australia gets overlooked? Reconstituted Melbourne hardcore steamrollers Nursery Crimes will play their first Adelaide shows in 35 years next weekend.

    Friday June 20 they’ll be at The Metro Hotel with Chainsaw Preachers and Fear and Loathing.Tickets are here.

    The action moves to Port Noarlunga Football Club on Saturday with special guests The Skunks, Cull the Band, The Dandy Buzzkills and punk rock DJ LeRox. Tickets are procurable here.
