Dom Mariani, leader of The Stems and proud parent of a brand new solo album, “Apple Of Life”, is taking his ‘70s psych-boogie band Datura4 out of Western Australia for a fang around South-Eastern Queensland this weekend.
Datura4 plays Iron & Resin at Currumbin on Friday October 24 with local garage stompers The Spivs. Tickets for that one are here.
On Saturday, Datura4 hits The Brightside in Brisbane with special guests The Dubrovniks (sans the late James Baker) and The Horny Toads. The occasion is Dubrovniks guitarist Glenn Armstrong’s 60th birthday and tickets are here.
The current line-up is Mariani on guitar and vocals with Warren Hall (The Drones) on drums, Stu Loasby (bass), Bob Patient (keyboards) and Joe Grech (guitar and vocals). Datura4 have released five impressive albums: “Demon Blues” (2015), “Hairy Mountain” (2016), “Blessed is the Boogie” (2019), “West Coast Highway Cosmic” (2020) and “Neanderthal Jam” (2022).
Released on US label Alive Natural Sound Records all five albums have been received enthusiastically and the band has toured the Australian East Coast and through Europe in 2019 and 2023. They are currently working on their sixth studio album.
