Photographer, chronicler of New York City's punk scene and onetime minder for Iggy & the Stooges and manager of Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers, Leee Black Childers, has died.
A figure on the Max's Kansas City scene and a key employee of MainMan Management, the company that controlled the career fortunes of the Stooges, Lou Reed and David Bowie for a time in the early '70s, the flamboyant Black Childers was known to have entered intensive care in Los Angeles last month.

Leee Black Childers was at the coalface during the emergence of glam and punk rock.
Black Childers babysat Iggy & the Stooges when they were domiciled in a rented mansion in L.A. after their 1972 return from recording "Raw Power" in London.
A few years later he signed on as manager of the Heartbreakers and looked after them during their time in the UK.
In 2012, many of his images were published in a book called "Drag Queens, Rent Boys, Pick Pockets, Junkies, Rockstars and Punks" with some of the included photos of Debbie Harry, Jackie Curtis and Iggy Pop being seen publicly for the first time.
He exhibited in London and more recently in L.A. The poster for last month's Los Angeles show is reproduced above.
