Acclaimed filmmaker Danny Garcia is nearing completion of his final edit of "Sonny Vincent: FTW", the 90-minute documentary he's directing about the life and music career of punk survivor and I-94 Bar favourite, Sonny Vincent.
The film will will delve into everything, from Vincent’s teenage years on the streets of New York, the early punk scene, with his notorious band Testors to his time playing with members of the Velvet Underground, the MC5 and The Stooges,

Sonny Vincent came out of New York’s original punk underground in the 1970s, fronting Testors and becoming a fixture of the CBGB and Max’s Kansas City scenes. Since then he has built a long, fiercely independent career rooted in punk, garage rock and the wider underground.
Across that career he has played and recorded with an extraordinary cast including Moe Tucker and Sterling Morrison of the Velvet Underground, Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys, Scott Asheton of the Stooges, Bob Stinson of The Replacements, Australian's Spencer P Jones, Wayne Kramer of MC5 and Captain Sensible and Rat Scabies of The Damned.
Garcia is an acclaimed documentary filmmaker known for chronicling punk, rock and underground music culture. His films include “The Rise and Fall of The Clash” (2012), acclaimed Johnny Thunders profile “Looking for Johnny“ (2014), “Sad Vacation: The Last Days of Sid and Nancy” (2016), and “Stiv: No Regrets, No Compromise” (2019), exploring the life of Dead Boys frontman Stiv Bators.
His later work includes “Rolling Stone: Life and Death of Brian Jones” (2019), “Nightclubbing: The Birth of Punk Rock in NYC” (2022) and “Ghosts of the Chelsea Hotel” (2023). His most frecent film, “Vive Le Punk” (2026), marks 50 years of punk by following the enduring artists who continue to tour and perform.
