the on and ons bowlo

Revered Sydney powerpop combo The On and Ons will be previewing songs from Album Number Seven at their old stamping ground, Marrickville Bowling Club, on Saturday, November 8. Tickets are selling here.

The as yet untitled album is due on US label JEM Records in early 2026. JEM issued “Come On in””, a part retrospective-part new release that re-introduced The On and Ons to the North American market. The band had put out a single with American label Get Hip.

“Come On In” has attracted widelspread global airplay so the next release is being eagerly anticipated. The band's vocalist-guitarist Glenn Morris (ex-Screaming Tribesmen, Kings of The Sun) is a prolific writer of high-quality songs and has an emormous stockpile.

The gig will also be a showcase for main support Melbourne-based Velvet Parade, fronted by ex-Sydneysider and Mushroom Planet vocalist Ripley Hood.

Velvet Parade has been playing regularly around Melbourne and were supports to X at one of their “At Home With You” re-issue shows in the Victorian capital. The band toured Japan last month.

Garage heavyweights Jupiter 5 are opening the night and are fresh from studio sessions for a new long-player, being tracked at Bexley’s Sugarplum Studios.
