In 2020 Sunnyboys will celebrate 40 years since their inception (though a mere 12 years of actual existence) via liver shows and a new release. “Sunnyboys 40” brings together the first ever re-release of the band’s much loved 1980 eponymous debut 7” - featuring the original version of the all-time classic “Alone With You” - alongside four new recordings of songs from the archives of chief songwriter Jeremy Oxley.
The full length 8-track album will be released on November 29 via all formats including a limited edition vinyl release complete with hard cover 12 page 30cm x 30cm photo essay of the band, as well as CD, cassette and all digital platforms.

As if an inaugural US tour with the Scientists wasn’t memorable enough, Kim Salmon is packing a lot more into the back-end of 2019 and the kick-off of 2020.
He’s launching his Douglas Galbraith-penned biography, “Nine Parts Water One Part Sand. Kim Salmon And The Formula For Grunge” in Melbourne on November 9, heading a bill that includes King Congo (backed by Harry Howard and the NDE) and Dave Graney and the MistLY.
Salmon is being inducted with the Scientists in the WA Music Hall of Fame on October 31 – along with former teen idol and Young Talent Time TV host, Johnny Young (!)

All roads lead to Sydney's Factory Theatre on Sunday for the Sue Telfer Tribute concert aka Festival of Sue. The Ons and Ons open procedings at 2pm and X will close it at 10pm. In-between you can catch the New Christs, The Johnnys, Kim Salmon, The Cruel Sea (instrumental), Front End Loader, The Mis-Made, Penny Ikinger and The Holy Soul. Our late friend Sue Telfer has been named the Australian Women in Music Awards 2019 Music Leadership Award gold medallist. The award - which recognises a female CEO, managing director, label manager, A&R director, artist manager or publisher who has made a significant impact in music industry leadership - was announced at the Brisbane Powerhouse last night.
Sue was a 27-year manager with APRA-AMCOS and a long-term band booker/den mother on Sydney’s live music scene. We’ll be celebrating her life at a tribute concert at The Factory Theatre in Sydney on Sunday October 20 from 2pm, featuring X, the New Christs, The Johnnys, Kim Salmon, The Cruel Sea (instrumental), Front End Loader, The Mis-Made, Penny Ikinger, The Holy Soul and The On and Ons. Hey Sydney! All roads lead to Marrickville's Factory Floor on Friday, December 6 if you're a fan of garage rock when Outtaspace present their first "Outtaspace Garage Meltdown" mini-festival.
Heading the night are Sore Points from Canada, making their first Australian tour. Said to be the outcome of "Buzzcocks rolling a spliff with The Damned, passing it on to Cock Sparrer, Blitz and then Lemmy", they'll be promoting their EP "Not Alright".
They';re being joined by girl-boy garage duo Thee Cha Chas (Melbourne) via a Japan and Oz East Coast tour, hosts The Dunhill Blues (touring their new album "Second Prize in a Beauty Contest"), Wollongong's Fangin’ Felines (ex Nitrocris, Booby Traps) and the raw 'n' powerful Thee Evil Twin. Grazza from Stamp Out Disco will man the DJ decks.
